Ice Queens- Dlectricity Light Festival, Detroit

At  Steves Party Store before the performance.

Introducing the Ice Cave by Graem Whyte.
For the two night Light festival, The Tzarinas of The Plane acted as the mistresses of ceremony, introducing other performers to the stage, performing acts of ubsurdity in-between performers, making tea for the cold audience and dancing through the crowd inspiring others to do the same.

Pump, CAID, Detroit 2012

Inspired by recent motherhood, specifically how pumping overshadows the beauty and primal satisfaction of breast-feeding. Pumping meant freedom: freedom to leave the house for more than a couple of hours, to have a couple drinks and to sleep in. But it also meant sitting there for hours with tubes sticking out of you waiting for the magic liquid to come out. It was complete absurdity.

- OLGA - Water Show- CAID

"OLGA" was a performance created for the Performance Laboratory, a bi-monthly performance spectacular at the CAID in Detroit.
Inspired by eastern european nostalgia,  Olga is a story about an immigrant woman who works very hard in the new land of the free, cleaning houses until her hands turn into rubber gloves and she slowly goes mad. Olga is narrated through song and dance with the mannequin as the lead actor.
